I’ve always dreamt of being a storyteller of the sea… and by using the power of photography I can nurture a meaningful connection with nature where I feel like I can educate people to support and protect our oceans. And the more we understand the ocean, the more we appreciate and want to protect it.
My goal with My Life in Shades of Blue - A Visual Story of a Girl & her Ocean, is to bring awareness to ocean conservation and empower action through art.
The 8x8, 200 page, soft cover perfect bound Coffee Table Book is a breathtaking visual story and souvenirs of my journeys around the incredible places I've visited so far. I have been compiling images that make us appreciate how lucky we are to live on an earth so beautiful for this book amongst my travels all my life.
From underwater pictures in the Caribbean to coastal landscapes around Canada this visual story illustrates the way I feels when I'm swimming in the ocean, walking on the beach or looking at a pastel sunset.
What you see in my photos is exactly how I experience the ocean. My goal with this project was to illustrate that feeling through photography, raising awareness about the oceans and giving back by donating part of the profits from this book to ocean conservation charities such as Oceana.
The book also features exclusive images and words by renowned underwater photographers and freediver friends who have inspired me on my journey.
